WAITING LIST, PUPPY SELECTIONS & MORE

ADOPTION PROCESS

We are committed to ensuring our dogs have a loving home

Interested in adopting one of our puppies?

We have two options available to you, Puppy Adoption and the Guardian Home Program.  The cost of adopting a puppy from one of our Standard or Medium litters is $2300 (+HST) and an additional $200 (+HST) for Minis or Petites.  We do not charge extra for rare colours/patterns. The cost of the Guardian Home Program is free (+$300 deposit). Please note that we will only have puppies available for Guardian Home placements from time-to-time and this program is not ideal for all families.  To learn more about whether this program is the best fit for your family, please click here.  If you are interested in the Guardian Program please fill out the application.

Once you have decided whether you would like to adopt a puppy or be a part of our Guardian Program, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.  You can email us directly from here.  You can also contact us through our Facebook Page.

If you have decided to adopt a puppy with us, please fill out the waiting list form.

No Deposits?

We have a "No Deposit" policy. Why?  We want to make sure that families are adopting our puppies for the right reasons.  We would hate for someone to feel obligated to follow through with a puppy adoption if they are not 100 percent committed.  We understand that life circumstances can change and you may no longer be able to adopt a puppy.  For this reason, we do not require a deposit to be added to our waiting list.

How does the Waiting list work?

Once you have filled out the online form, you are automatically added to our waiting list.  We work from one general waiting list to allow families choose multiple litters of interest. We will send out an update email every 2 months with any news on upcoming litters. These emails will also include a link to reconfirm interest.  It is very important that you fill out the confirmation form each time it is sent out if you would like to stay on our list.    We will then revise the list and send out an updated waiting list. This is how we "tidy" up our list to keep it up-to-date.

Once we have a confirmed pregnancy or birth, we will send out a separate announcement email to the top 50 families.  We will check-in to see who is interested and create a list for that litter (from our main list's order).  We always create a cancellation list as well. These families will receive personal emails every week or two about the litter's progress.

We will post regular updates (photos and videos) on our Facebook page and website throughout the entire process. You may add yourself to multiple litter contact lists since we do everything by date of contact from this form. We have one general waiting list, so you are free to choose any litter or timeframe that suits your family.  We use the date on your application for ordering our list.

The average wait time on the list is about 8 months to a year but can at times be faster for standard size.

How does Puppy Selection work?

The puppy selection process starts from Day 1.  We do not ask preference questions since we want you to have time to choose the puppy that will be the best fit for your family.  We will update you with pictures and videos throughout the entire adoption process.

Following the puppies' vet visit and vaccination, we will offer our families an optional visitation day.  This day is only open to the families that are on the list to adopt a puppy from that litter. We also follow biosecurity practices to minimize the risk of pathogens being brought to our property.  Our first priority is the safety of our dogs and your new family member.  We will begin asking for puppy selections the following week after the families have had the opportunity to see many pictures/videos and visit the puppies.  We are also happy to answer questions about specific puppies to help you find the best fit for your family.  We would also be happy to video call you if necessary.  Puppy selections will go in order of our waiting list.  Be Sure to "like" and "follow" the Facebook page to stay up-to-date with pictures and videos.

Where are our puppies raised?

We are a home-based breeder that does not raise our dogs or puppies in kennels.  Our dogs are our family members and live with us in our home.  We also have some of our dogs in Guardian Homes with family members, friends and approved guardian families.

When puppies are due to arrive, we convert our dining room or family room into mom's whelping area.  We like to have mom close to us so that we can regularly check-in on her and the puppies.  We keep them nice and cozy and check in on them regularly. Once the puppies have outgrown their whelping area, we move them to the puppy room (also in our home).  We gradually create a larger area for them to encourage their potty training program.  We also introduce various toys, surfaces, and stimuli in their puppy area.  We socialize the puppies daily and begin Puppy Culture training from the very beginning.  You can see many videos of our puppy play room on our Facebook page! Our puppies are born and raised in our home where they will experience comfort and exposure to a normal home environment (including its sights, sounds and smells) from the very beginning. Since they live with us, they will also be socialized and begin to learn puppy manners and etiquette during their critical socialization period.

Still have questions?

Please feel free to contact us if you still have questions.  We are strong believers in open communication and will answer any questions throughout the entire process.  We are also available after you have adopted your puppy if you need support or have questions.
